Josue Soto Injured in Car Accident in Jersey Village, TX
Harris County, TX — July 26, 2024, Josue Soto was injured following a car accident at around 5:10 a.m. along the Northwest Freeway.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened along westbound lanes of U.S. 290 in the area of Jersey Drive.
According to officials, 26-year-old Josue David Soto was in a Toyota 4Runner going along the freeway. Up ahead, there was a Kia reportedly disabled in the lanes of travel. The Toyota struck the disabled Kia, then flipped over. As a result, Soto was seriously injured. There were no other confirmed injuries.
Some of the key factors in any crash involving a disabled vehicle is whether or not the vehicle was visible, whether or not they were able to get their vehicle out of the travel lanes, and also why the vehicle was disabled. Did the vehicle have its hazards on? Was there a shoulder they could have pulled off to? Could they have continued driving until they found an exit to take? Was this something unforeseeable, or did something preventable like running out of gas disable the vehicle? Depending on certain circumstances, it's possible this disabled vehicle simply wasn't avoidable. Right now, I haven't seen enough information from authorities to suggest they're getting the whole story.
