76-Year-Old Killed in Multi-Vehicle Truck Accident Brentwood, NH
Brentwood, NH — April 24, 2023, a man from Plaistow was killed in a five-vehicle chain-reaction accident on State Route 125 in Brentwood.
Sources report a dump truck and 4 passenger vehicles were in a chain-reaction accident on Route 125 just north of South Rd. This section of Route 125 is a two-lane highway. At the crash site, google map images show northbound drivers are permitted to cross the yellow lines for passing and southbound drivers are entering a no-passing zone.
Officials allege a black pickup truck had recently passed a vehicle when it rear-ended the northbound semi-truck. The passenger side of the pickup truck allegedly collided with the rear, driver side of the semi's trailer. This collision reportedly resulted in the pickup truck being partially in both the northbound and southbound lanes.
A southbound Toyota Rav4 attempted an evasive maneuver, successfully dodged the black pickup, but collided head-on with the victim's northbound silver SUV which was just behind the truck and semi.
Officials have not released how the fifth vehicle was involved. Images from the accident suggest it was also heading southbound when it ran off the road toward its passenger side.
The driver of the silver SUV, hit by the Toyota Rav4, was reportedly transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but officials say he succumbed to those injuries on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
At the moment no other injuries have been reported, but one source suggests the driver of the black pickup truck also suffered serious injuries. Officials are currently withholding the victims' names until the next of kin is notified.
Authorities have not released the cause of the crash at this time.
