Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There are some concerning details about this crash, but it's important to consider what can make investigations into a crash like this so challenging.
The severity of the impact and a resulting fire no doubt made for a very chaotic accident scene. When that happens, authorities sometimes have to spend so much time clearing the scene, helping victims, and directing traffic that the investigations take a back seat. If steps aren't taken to secure key evidence early on, important details can easily slip through the cracks.
That's why it may be necessary here to follow up with the authorities and see how they're treating the investigations. If they had the time, resources, and manpower to give the crash their full attention, that's good news. But if they couldn't prioritize getting the facts, there may be more to this crash that requires more thorough independent accident reconstructionists to step in.
