Plano, TX — October 25, 2023, Akash Oza was injured after an accident involving an unintended trailer at 11:00 p.m. on the President George Bush Turnpike.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened along westbound lanes of the tollway at the Preston Road overpass.
Details at this time suggest that 32-year-old Akash Oza was in a Ford F-150 going westbound on PGBT. At the Preston overpass, the pickup somehow crashed into the back of a box trailer which statements indicate was left unattached on the right shoulder. As a result, Akash Oza sustained injuries described as serious. Conditions were apparently rainy at the time, but the exact cause of the crash is unconfirmed.

I have two serious questions that these initial statements don’t answer: Why was the trailer left on the shoulder, and was it clearly visible? There could be all kinds of other factors involved here, so I don’t want to suggest this is the only thing worth investigating. But commercial vehicles and other objects being improperly left on the shoulder is an issue I bring up a lot on this blog. It simply doesn’t get the attention it deserves. The few details I’m seeing about it right now makes me wonder whether or not authorities are letting something crucial slip through the cracks.
