Midland County, TX — April 7, 2023, Alexis Aguinaga Rodriguez was killed due to a car accident between two vehicles along Highway 349.
Officials said they were called to the area of Highway 349 and County Road 121. It appears that 19-year-old Alexis Aguinaga-Rodriguez was in a GMC Terrain traveling northbound on the highway. While attempting to turn onto CR-121, a Chevy Impala which police say was fleeing a previous accident crashed into the GMC.

Aguinaga-Rodriguez sustained injuries which proved fatal. The Chevy driver had unspecified injuries. Right now, police are still investigating and have not reported any potential charges.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If the details here are true, then one can't help wondering why the other driver here would have been fleeing a previous crash scene. Generally speaking, it's not all that common for drivers to flee simply out of panic. There's usually something specific they're trying to hide from authorities, such as warrants, drugs, or drunk driving. Could that be true here, as well?
One way or another, the decisions leading up to this collision resulted in the death of a kid who barely got their life started. I can't imagine anyone disagreeing with the fact that warrants as thorough investigations as possible to find out why all of this happened and what may come next for those involved.
