Alma Paiz Killed, Benjamin Jarvis Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident in Corpus Christi, TX
Corpus Christi, TX — October 5, 2023, Alma Paiz was killed, and Benjamin Jarvis was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 188 in Corpus Christi, TX.
Authorities indicate that on October 5, a fatal accident occurred when two vehicles collided in Corpus Christi for unknown reasons. According to reports, the crash happened around 1:54 in the afternoon.
Investigators say a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound along Highway 188 when it hydroplaned and crossed into eastbound traffic. The Chevrolet reportedly collided head-on with a Ford F-350 pickup truck. Authorities say that speed may have been a factor in the crash, in addition to wet weather conditions. This has not been confirmed, as police are still investigating.
Officials confirmed the Chevrolet Malibu driver, Alma Paiz, 41, suffered fatal injuries. The Ford pickup driver, Benjamin Jarvis, 39, reportedly sustained injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The extent of the driver's injuries is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
