Alyssa Chere Owens Killed in Tractor-trailer Accident in Midland County, TX
Midland County, TX — May 1, 2023, Alyssa Chere Owens was killed following a tractor-trailer accident that happened at around 3:36 p.m. along Highway 349.
Preliminary details provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety indicated that the crash happened near mile marker 308, about 12 miles north of Midland proper.

Initial statements from officials say that 35-year-old Alyssa Chere Owens was in a vehicle going northbound along the highway. Due to events which have not yet been confirmed, Owens's vehicle somehow crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer.
The severity of the crash resulted in Owens sustaining fatal injuries. No one else was said to be hurt in the crash. Conditions at the time of the wreck were not specified, and it's currently unclear if authorities have spoken to independent witnesses that may have seen what happened.
