El Paso, TX — March 16, 2024, Amalio Chavez and two others were injured in a car accident just after 2:45 a.m. along East Gateway Boulevard.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Amalio Chavez was traveling in a southbound Cadillac on Lee Trevino Drive approaching the Gateway East Boulevard intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound Chevy Camaro occupied by a 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman on Gateway East Boulevard neglected to stop at the stop light indicated by the traffic signal, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the Camaro and the Cadillac.
Chavez incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. The man from the Camaro suffered moderate injuries and the woman from the Camaro sustained minor injuries, as well, according to reports.
