Burleson County, TX — December 2, 2024, Asia Debrow was killed and Karl Debrow, Tina Cooper, Arianna Toledo and two children were injured in a car accident about 7 p.m. on State Highway 36.
Authorities said two vehicles, a 2025 Honda Civic and a 2016 Kia Optima, were heading in opposite directions before they collided about 1.5 miles north of Lyons.
Asia Debrow, 28, a passenger in the Kia, died at the scene of the accident, according to authorities, while three helicopters were sent to ferry the injured to area hospitals.
Two children, ages 5 and 8, were flown to a Temple hospital with serious injuries, authorities said. Another passenger in the Kia, Tina Cooper, 51, was flown to another Temple hospital after being extricated from the wrecked car by emergency personnel.
Karl Debrow, 28, the driver of the Kia, suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to authorities. He was taken to a hospital in Bryan.
Authorities said Arianna Toledo, the driver of the Honda, also was transported to the Bryan hospital with minor injuries, according to authorities.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, which reportedly occurred in a no-passing zone of S.H. 36.
