Brenham, TX — July 6, 2024, a boy was injured following a bicycle versus car accident at around 9:18 p.m. on Jackson Street.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened off the corner of South Jackson Street and West Fifth Street.
Investigators said that a 12-year-old boy was on a bicycle going northbound on Jackson Street. While doing so, a vehicle struck the boy from behind. That vehicle then fled the scene. The boy was seriously injured.
Authorities didn’t release a description for the vehicle. No further information is available.

Even if authorities still haven’t found the driver responsible here, there could still be progress to make. A lot of the time, someone in the public knows something that can help authorities find the person responsible. It’s even possible a nearby residence or business caught the incident on camera. Even weeks or months after an accident, there is more than enough reason to follow up and try to get new information. If nothing else, the family affected by the accident deserves to see someone held accountable.
