Bicyclist Killed in Alleged Intoxicated Driver Accident on F.M. 1860 in McLennan County, TX
McLennan County, TX — September 2, 2023, a bicyclist was killed following an alleged intoxicated driving accident at around 8:25 p.m. along F.M. 1860.
Authorities said in preliminary investigations that the incident happened in the area of the Farm-to-Market 1860 and Old Marlin Road intersection.

According to officials, a 59-year-old man was on a bicycle going along northbound lanes of F.M. 1860. Details suggest that bike was equipped with a rear reflector. Also reportedly going northbound was a GMC Sierra pickup. Authorities allege that the GMC driver failed to control speed approaching the bicyclist, resulting in a collision.
Due to the collision, the bicyclist succumbed to fatal injuries. The driver of the GMC allegedly had been drinking, and it appears authorities recommended there be charges for intoxication manslaughter. Additional details about the charges are unavailable at this time.
