Commentary on Big Rig Accident on Highway 4 in Contra Costa County
People see a single-vehicle truck wreck and just assume that the driver must have done something wrong. That's certainly the most likely explanation, but there could be more to consider. For example, I rarely see authorities look into mechanical issues. Commercial trucks are incredibly complex, and between their heavy use, the possible lack of care their employers give to those trucks, and the complexity of those possible factors, important details can easily slip through the cracks. While just one possibility, understanding why things like mechanical issues go unnoticed can help folks understand why getting the right experienced professionals on the job can be so crucial.
