Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If it's true that this was a hit-and-run, then it's at least encouraging authorities say they know who was behind the wheel. But even if that person faces consequences for leaving the scene, did authorities find out why they left the scene? Sometimes, it's to hide something specific, like warrants, drugs, or drunk driving. Accountability means ensuring there are consequences for all of those actions, so it's possible there's a lot more to this story than preliminary reports suggest.
