Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

A lot of people think that fatal work accidents are all about OSHA digging into the details and seeing an employer is held accountable for any mistakes. In reality, Texas fatal work accident law is more complex than in any other state in the country. There isn’t always an automatic process that takes care of all a family’s needs and gets them the answers they deserve. And since OSHA tends to focus solely on their own priorities, their efforts alone aren’t likely to get families the conclusion they really deserve. So while it’s serious that OSHA allegedly found violations here, it’s not likely that was the end of the story.
