Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

One of the most helpful things anyone can do after a car accident is ask questions of the authorities. Are they doing laser mapping? Are they inspecting the vehicles for defects? Are they preserving electronic data from phones, cameras, and the vehicles? Have they taken down any independent witness testimony? Generally speaking, authorities who do good investigations should have no issues answering these questions for victims and families. So when it seems like their answers are coming up short, that may be a sign that independent investigators need to step in and pick up the slack.
