League City, TX — December 3, 2024, Christian Duran Trejo was killed as the result of a work accident which took place at 5:55 a.m. along FM 518.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened off the corner of the FM 518 Road East and Lawrence Road intersection.
OSHA officials said that 29-year-old Christian Duran Trejo was at a job site where a concrete truck was pouring. That truck reportedly tipped on uneven ground, causing the truck boom to hit Trejo. Due to the accident, Christian Duran Trejo was fatally injured.
No other injuries were confirmed. The OSHA statement listed three alleged violations as well as a recommended penalty. Additional details are unconfirmed.

Even if OSHA finds violations and issues penalties to an employer, that doesn’t necessarily make things open-and-shut for the worker’s family. Despite what many think, there isn’t always a guaranteed path for families to get benefits or even see accountability after an accident. That burden often falls to them, which usually means bringing in independent professionals who navigate the legal maze that is Texas work fatality law. Maybe things were simpler behind the scenes with this accident, but my experience tells me that these OSHA statements, though concerning, might just be the tip of the iceberg.
