Goliad, TX — March 19, 2025, David Buzek was killed as the result of a work accident along the side of Farm-to-Market 2441.
Authorities said in initial OSHA statements that the accident happened between Goliad and Refugio at 12525 FM 2441.
Right now, the cause of the accident remains unclear. OSHA says that David Francis Buzek was at an oil and gas site when the fatal accident occurred. It’s unclear if anyone else was involved in the accident. No further information about the accident is available at this time.

After all this time, people might expect to see OSHA release more information about a man dying on the job. The reality is countless workplace fatalities are left just like this—no clear answers. In fact, a lot of families end up with just as much information as us in the public, which is to say practically none at all.
That’s just another reason fatal work accidents are so challenging in Texas. We already have more complex work fatality laws than any other state in the country. Navigating that legal maze without any clear answers only makes things more difficult.
This is why families often seek out independent investigators who can finally get them some clarity. Regardless of what happened in a fatal work accident, a family needs evidence to ensure they get the a fair resolution. Generally speaking, the earlier those steps are taken, the better.
