Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With any serious crash, it’s important to make sure investigations have been thorough and unbiased. However, motorcycle accidents in particular can create a challenge. A lot of folks are inherently biased against motorcyclists, leading them to jump to conclusions. Authorities can also let their bias get the better of them, leading to inaccurate or incomplete investigations. As such, I’ve often found throughout my career that it’s more prudent to have independent accident reconstructionists look into motorcycle wrecks. Either they can verify that authorities let the evidence speak for itself, or they’ll find that new information that needs to be brought to light. Either way, it’s important folks know their side of the story will be told fairly.
