Johnson County, TX — January 17, 2026, Ernesto Arredondo was injured following a car accident that happened around 2:27 a.m. along I-35W.
Investigators said that the accident happened in the area of County Road 106. north of Grandview.
According to officials, 19-year-old Ernesto Arredondo was in a Ford F-150 going southbound along the interstate. It appears the pickup left its lane and crashed. Due to this, Ernesto Arredondo sustained serious injuries.

Whenever a crash involves a teen driver, it’s important to make sure investigators are being thorough and not just jumping to conclusions. A lot of folks assume the worst of younger, inexperienced drivers, and this can lead to important evidence slipping through the cracks. Regardless of age, a serious crash calls for a serious crash reconstruction. So either authorities can show they’re doing that, or independent investigators may need to step in and pick up the slack.
