Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If the truck involved here did leave the scene, authorities need to put more information out to the public. That way, someone might be able to connect the dots and help authorities identify a driver or company.
Regardless, if authorities know or learn who the driver is, it’s important to know why they failed to maintain their lane. Were the fatigued? Were they being impatient trying to meet an unreasonable deadline? Are they an inexperienced truck driver? Do they have a history of making mistakes? These questions are important both for holding a driver accountable but also for ensuring a potential negligent employer is set straight before their actions lead to more people getting hurt.
So, is this crash still getting the attention it needs to ensure there is full accountability? Or, did authorities move on too soon?
