Monterey Park, CA — October 18, 2023, several were injured following a box truck hit-and-run accident at around 4:30 p.m. along New Avenue.
Authorities said that the incident occurred at the intersection of New Avenue and Garvey Avenue. News sites have video footage of the crash.
Reports say that a sedan was traveling through the intersection at the time when it appears a box truck went through a red light and crashed into the sedan. That box truck then reportedly fled the scene. Due to the collision, several people were taken to hospitals with injuries described as life-threatening. Their names have yet to be released.
Authorities continue to look for the box truck, which was white with a white box trailer. Investigations are ongoing.
