Brandon Gene Olds Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on Maple Avenue in Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX — March 10, 2024, Brandon Olds was killed and one person was injured after a car accident around 11:45 p.m. along Maple Avenue.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the collision occurred at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Knight Street at the Dallas North Tollway underpass.

Investigators said that 46-year-old Brandon Olds was in a Porsche Cayenne going northwest along Maple. At Knight, authorities say a Toyota Camry failed to yield making a right turn, and the Porsche crashed into it. As a result, Olds was killed. The other driver had apparently moderate injuries. Authorities did not report any charges or citations.

The details here seem rather straightforward, but I always tell folks that even seemingly simple accidents can involve incredibly complex factors. Sometimes, those are factors even authorities aren't prepared for.
Not long ago, for example, a family came to us about a deadly single-vehicle wreck. Something that came to light in the independent accident reconstructions which authorities missed was that the victim's seatbelt failed due to a defect, and they likely would have survived had it not been for the defect.
That's certainly not common, and I'm not saying it happened here. But it's best to keep in mind that relying solely on authorities to get answers doesn't always pan out.
