Sherman, TX -- November 21, 2022, Bryan Luis Cruz and another person were injured due to an accident where their vehicle and a semi crashed.
Investigators reported that the incident happened at around 2:17 p.m. along US Highway 75 in the area of Taylor Street.

Officials said that 19-year-old Bryan Luis Cruz and a 21-year-old woman were in a Ford Fusion traveling southbound along US 75. Approaching a temporary exit for Travis Street due to construction, the Ford somehow collided with construction barrels, then veered over and hit a semi pulling dual trailers.
Due to the collision, Cruz had non-incapacitating injuries while the woman in the Ford reportedly had incapacitating injuries. No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the crash remains unavailable at this time.
Commentary on Bryan Luis Cruz Tractor-Trailer Accident in Sherman
Something that often goes overlooked in these situations is the construction in the area. There times, commonly or not, where a construction zone is itself dangerous and contributes to a crash like this. The problem, however, is that authorities rarely consider that scenario.
Not long ago, for example, a man died after police say he ran a stop sign and hit a semi-truck. More thorough investigations, however, revealed that TxDOT removed the stops signs earlier that day, then forgot to replace them when they left. So how did the guy run a stop sign that wasn't there?
I'm not saying anything like that happened here, but it's an example of why a crash like this is usually better off in the hands of more experienced independent investigators if people are going to get the help they need.
