Birmingham, AL — December 6, 2024, two adults and two children were injured in a pickup versus school bus accident at about 7:15 a.m. along Mulga Loop Road.
According to authorities, the accident took place on Mulga Loop Road in the vicinity of the Docena Cut Off Road intersection.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between a pickup truck and a school bus. Pictures of the scene which have been published in the news depict the pickup truck with significant front-end damage. The bus was shown in a roadside ditch, listing far to the right and practically on its side.
The man who had been behind the wheel of the pickup at the time of the wreck apparently had to be extracted from the vehicle upon the arrival of emergency personnel. He, one other adult, and two children suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity and were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
