11 Injured in Bus Accident on I.H. 10 in Hancock County, MS
Hancock County, MI — April 4, 2024, eleven people were injured in a bus accident at around 3:00 p.m. along Interstate Highway 10.
According to authorities, the accident took place on I.H. 10 in the vicinity of the State Route 43 exit.

The causal factors that led to the accident remain unclear. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the bus failed to safely maintain its lane of travel, colliding with a concrete center median. The bus lost control as a result of the collision, though the driver was apparently able to keep the bus from overturning. However, the bus driver and one other occupant were ejected from the bus over the course of the accident. Another occupant of the bus was able to bring the out of control bus back under control before it came to a stop.
Nine of the occupants incurred injuries of unknown severity and were transported to local medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment. However, the bus driver and one other occupant of the vehicle suffered suspected severe injuries and were flown to area hospitals in order to get immediate care.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
