Commentary
In a crash like this, especially in the early morning hours, it’s important to ask whether investigators had the opportunity to fully document the scene. Limited visibility and a lack of witnesses can make key details easy to miss if officers don’t have the time or resources for a thorough review.
Another important question is whether a vehicle defect could have caused or contributed to the crash. Mechanical failures—like issues with brakes, steering, or tires—often go unnoticed unless someone takes the time to inspect the vehicle carefully before it’s moved or repaired.
Finally, has any electronic crash data been preserved? Many vehicles today store information about speed, braking, and steering input before a collision. That data, along with possible phone or camera footage, can be essential for understanding what really happened.
These are concerns any thorough accident reconstruction should be able to address. If authorities didn't take those steps, it raises the possibility that the crash would be better off with independent investigators.
