Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With authorities saying someone failed to yield here, that may make all of this seem open-and-shut. As they say, though, it’s not about what you know; it’s about what you can prove. I’ve been handling car accident cases for over 30 years now. Getting victims and families the resolutions they deserve requires a lot more than just walking up to an insurance company with a preliminary police report. Any gaps in the story create an opportunity to shift the blame. As such, gathering as much evidence as possible helps ensure there’s no room to muddy the waters. I don’t see any reason right now why this crash would be any kind of exception to that.
