Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A major concern after single-vehicle accidents is if authorities are treating the crash as a low priority. I've had many people come to me with single-vehicle crashes because folks trust authorities to do a thorough investigation, but they find themselves weeks or months down the line with just as little information they had as they had on day one.
Unfortunately, officers can only work with what they're given. If their supervisors don't give them the time or tools they need to do a proper accident reconstruction, important information is bound to slip through the cracks. So if authorities here had a dedicated team looking at the facts, it's very likely they'll have the answers a family needs after a serious crash. But if this crash was treated as just some run-of-the-mill, low priority job, then there could be more to this story that never got the attention it needed.
