Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
After any serious car accident, it's important to consider some key questions early on:
- Are authorities dedicating enough time and resources to the crash?
- Have the vehicles been inspected for potential defects?
- Is all electronic evidence being preserved?
In my experience, these questions can help show families when authorities are treating their situation as a low priority. If they're satisfied with the answers authorities come up with, that's generally a good sign the investigations are being handled well. Otherwise, if answers fall short, steps can be taken to have independent investigators pick up the slack.
