Barnesville, PA — December 13, 2024, Charles Chiao and Sharon Chiao were injured in a truck accident about 1 p.m. on Route 54/Barnesville Drive.
Authorities said a dump truck and another vehicle crashed after one of them had turned out of a parking lot.
The turning vehicle collided with a vehicle that had been eastbound on Route 54, but authorities have not released any further information about the Schuylkill County crash at this time.
Authorities said 85-year-old Charles Chiao, who was the driver of one of the vehicles, suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was flown to a local hospital for treatment. Passenger Sharon Chiao, 80, was hospitalized as well, but her injuries were not specified.
The other driver was not injured, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
