Charles Maddox Sr. Killed in Work Accident in Vidor, TX
Vidor, TX — November 8, 2021, Charles Maddox Sr. was killed as the result of an accident on a work site along Shannon Road.
Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said that the incident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. along Shannon Road just off North Main Street.

Initial details from officials said that 63-year-old Charles Maddox was working to cut down branches on an oak tree. The tree was in the process of being removed from a property. While removing the limbs, a portion of the tree apparently broke, causing Maddox to fall. Maddox fell approximate 35 feet and sustained fatal blunt force trauma, according to the reports.
Right now, additional details surrounding the accident are unavailable. OSHA statements show at least two suspected violations and a potential penalty of around $3,100. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
