Waller County, TX — March 29, 2025, Christopher Runge was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 3:09 a.m. along I-10.
Initial statements about the accident say that it took place between Brookshire and San Felipe, several miles west of Houston.

According to officials, 23-year-old Christopher Runge was in a Chevy S10 traveling eastbound along the interstate. A truck pulling a trailer was going the same direction when, police say, it made an unsafe lane change. Due to this, a collision occurred involving the Chevy pickup and a Honda Civic.
Due to the accident, Christophe Runge reportedly was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported. The truck-trailer combo reportedly left the accident scene. It's unclear at this time if authorities ever located the driver.
Commentary
If authorities weren't ever able to locate the runaway driver here, did they put the word out to local businesses and work sites? A truck pulling a trailer could very well be a work-related vehicle. Landscaping, construction, pool maintenance—if this vehicle was local to the area, someone might recognize a description.
A lot of the time, that's what helps solve hit-and-runs. When authorities are as public as possible with the details, someone is bound to connect the dots. That way, steps can be taken not only to see accountability for the vehicle leaving the scene but also for whatever led them to flee in the first place. Even if this accident remains unresolved, there's still hope that continued efforts could yield new results.
