Clarence E. Mitchell Killed in Semi-Truck Accident in Harrison County, IN
Harrison County, IN — May 4, 2023, Clarence E. Mitchell was killed due to a dual semi-truck accident at around 4:00 p.m. along I-64.
Preliminary information about the fatal wreck shows that it happened near the 105 mile marker of the interstate along eastbound lanes.

Authorities said in initial statements that a red semi-truck was traveling along eastbound lanes approaching the Corydon exit. Ahead, a white semi-truck said to be hauling Corvettes merged into the slow lane of travel in front of the red truck. Due to events not entirely clear right now, the red truck crashed into the back of the white semi.
Authorities identified the red truck driver as 64-year-old Clarence Mitchell. It appears Mitchell died from his injuries following transportation to a hospital in Louisville. The other semi driver, not currently identified, apparently had no injuries.
Right now, authorities do not specify the speed of the trucks, who had the right-of-way, nor whether or not any charges or citations are pending. Investigations are ongoing at this time.
