Damian Thomas Killed in Car Accident on Bissonnet Street in Houston, TX
UPDATE (June 28, 2023): Harris County authorities identified the victim killed in the accident as Damian Thomas. No further information about the crash is currently available.
Houston, TX — June 9, 2023, one person was killed as the result of an accident between a car and a pedestrian at 2:00 a.m. on Bissonnet Street.
According to information provided by the Houston Police Department, the incident happened in the area of the Bissonnet Street and Sam Houston Parkway intersection.

It appears from initial statements that the victim was walking at the time, attempting to cross Bissonnet. The pedestrian was reportedly in the crosswalk at the time. While crossing, however, a vehicle going eastbound struck the victim. That vehicle then reportedly left the scene without rendering aid, police say.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian succumbed to fatal injuries. Authorities did not publicly identify the victim at time of reporting. The suspect vehicle has also not been described, and authorities continue searching for it.
