Daniel Siller Jr. Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on U.S. 67 near Santa Anna, TX
UPDATE (April 5, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details of what occurred during this accident. According to these reports, a 19-year-old man was traveling in a westbound Ford F-250 along U.S. 67. Meanwhile, 57-year-old Daniel Siller Jr. was traveling in a southbound Dodge Ram 2500 on a private drive.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Dodge failed to yield the right of way to highway traffic, making a right turn into the westbound lanes in front of the Ford. The Ford collided with the rear-end of the Dodge, as a result. The collision caused both of the trucks to veer right, leaving the roadway and entering the roadside ditch. The Ford came to a stop on the north side of the road. However, the Dodge veered left, once again, crossing over all four lanes of the highway before crashing into the roadside ditch on the south side of the road and colliding with a fence.
Siller incurred critical injuries as a result of the wreck, while the man from the Ford suffered reportedly moderate injuries. Both victims were transported by EMS for treatment. However, only the man from the Ford ultimately survived his injuries. The investigation continues.
