Irving, TX — May 29, 2024, Dante Blakemore was injured as the result of a hit-and-run accident around 10:52 p.m. on Highway 114.
Investigators said that the incident happened in the area of Belt Line Road along eastbound lanes of the John Carpenter Freeway.
According to officials, 28-year-old Dante Blakemore was in a Ford Mustang going eastbound on the highway. A Dodge Ram was going the same direction when it reportedly crashed with the Mustang. The Dodge then reportedly fled the scene.
Dante Blakemore was reporteldy seriously injured in the accident. At this time, no further information is available.

Did authorities ever make progress in finding the suspected hit-and-run driver here? A lot of the time, authorities release a lot more information to the public when they’re serious about finding a hit-and-run suspect. The relative lack of information on this makes me wonder if authorities ever prioritized getting closure here. It wouldn’t be the first time victims were left without a resolution because authorities felt they had more important things to do. I would be glad to hear if progress was made behind the scenes, though.
