Teen Killed, David Flowers Injured in Rollover Accident in Oldham County, TX
Oldham County, TX — February 18, 2025, a teenager was killed and David Flowers was injured after a rollover accident at around 5:15 p.m. along I-40.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened off the eastbound lanes of the interstate just east of Vega.

It appears that 37-year-old David Flowers of Florida was in a Chevy Silverado pulling a trailer along with a 16-year-old girl. Somehow, the vehicle lost control, causing it to run off the side of the road. There, the truck overturned and separated from the trailer.
Due to the crash, the teen girl sustained ultimately fatal injuries. David Flowers had reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A serious rollover crash can be far more challenging to investigate than people may realize. I've been handling serious accident cases for over thirty years, and the depth to which independent accident reconstructionists go usually goes far beyond what authorities look into on their own.
Did a tire blowout? Was there another reckless driver that forced the victims off-road? Was there a defect—either with the truck or the trailer that caused the vehicle to lose control? Did airbags and seatbelts function properly? Were there issues with signage or lighting in the area?
I can reliably expect independent investigators to cover these potential factors. However, authorities sometimes lack the time, tools, or training to do so. This can result in incomplete or inaccurate reports. It's important for victims and families to be proactive so they can catch that sort of thing quickly and have a second set of eyes pick up the slack. Right now, I see no reason why this crash would be an exception to that.
