San Antonio, TX — December 3, 2025, David Gallegos was killed as the result of an 18-wheeler accident at around 12:20 a.m. along Southeast Loop 410.

One of the most common reasons families call me is because they lost a loved one in a crash, and they're concerned that their loved one's side of the story won't be told fairly. That's a perfectly reasonable concern. In fact, I have had many cases where it turned out authorities either jumped to conclusions or moved on without asking some key questions. If authorities feel that everything on the surface seems open-and-shut, they might miss important factors that need to be brought to light.

This is why it can be important to follow up with police early on in the investigations. If families bring their concerns and questions to the authorities, and authorities are able to address all of those concerns adequately, it's generally a sign they've done good, thorough investigations. But if details don't add up, or if the responses from authorities leave gaps in the story or unanswered questions, then that may be a sign independent investigators need to step in and pick up the slack.
