Diamond Jefferson Killed in Work Accident in Monahans, TX
Ward County, TX — May 9, 2022, Diamond Jefferson was killed due to a work site accident at 10:15 p.m. at a well site outside of Monahans.
Details from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration gave information saying that say that 33-year-old Diamond Jefferson was working to remove tubing from a gas well. Somehow, it appears the derrick "twisted," resulting in a collapse. Jefferson was pinned by the derrick as a result, and this caused fatal injuries.

According to OSHA, the incident took place at around 10:15 p.m. at what the OSHA report labeled as "Dino Juice Eastern Pad 18-40-45 Well # Dj Wci 5h." They provided coordinates in the report, 31.608127907735668 Long, -103.34248296668305 Lat. Google Maps shows that to be in rural Ward County approximately 20 miles west of Monahans, north of I-20.
The company identified in OSHA investigations was Lone Star Well Service. Additional details about the incident are unavailable at this time. Details regarding possible rule violations and penalties cannot be confirmed at this time.
