Dinkar Siyola Killed in Alleged Drunk Driver Accident in Palacios, TX
Palacios, TX — March 17, 2024, Dinkar Siyola was killed as the result of an alleged drunk driver accident after midnight along 12th Street.
According to initial details released by authorities, the crash happened off the corner of the 12th Street and Rorem Avenue intersection.
Investigators said that 50-year-old Dinkar Siyola was walking at the time on the grass along the side of 12th Street. While doing so, a driver in a Chevy Silverado somehow swerved off-road and struck Siyola. The driver then fled the scene. Siyola died as a result of the collision.

About an hour later, authorities say the Chevy driver was on 1st Street near Commerce Street. The vehicle apparently went off-road through the ditch, then crashed into a utility pole. That driver was seriously injured.
Right now, details suggest the driver of the Chevy was under the influence of alcohol. Authorities recommended charges for intoxication manslaughter.

If those allegations are true, it's a relief to know authorities found the person they think is responsible for the fatal collision. Few things are more harmful to an already grieving family than being unable to get closure.
To that end, then, hopefully authorities don't simply move on once this alleged drunk driver is in the system. There may have been an accomplice responsible for this crash who has yet to be held accountable: a bar.
I can't count how many times a family asked us to look into a drunk driving accident, we found a bar had illegally over-served that driver, and authorities were simply no where to be found. There have even been cases where we found the bar, we handed evidence to authorities on a silver platter, and they still didn't take any action. Had it not been for the victims' loved ones seeking out all of their available options, those establishments might have continued breaking the law until more people got hurt.
If authorities here are anything like those departments were, there could be some seriously important information slipping through the cracks. But if they're thorough and care about doing right by a family who lost their loved one, they'll take the steps to make sure the family is getting the answers they deserve.
