Travis County, TX — July 15, 2024, Donny Nolasco Cedillo was killed as the result of a work accident at around6:25 p.m. off of Beacasseau Drive.
An OSHA investigation summary says the incident happened in an area in far west Austin, west of Bee Cave.
According to officials, 18-year-old Donny Nolasco Cedillo was working with a masonry company at the time. While mixing cement, Nolasco Cedillo reportedly passed out. Ultimately, Nolasco Cedillo died, reportedly due to the heat.
No other injuries were reported. The OSHA summary includes seven listed alleged violations, all of which were labeled as “serious.” No further information is available right now.

After any fatal work accident, it’s important that those affected understand just how complex Texas work fatality law is. It’s more challenging than in any other state in the country. While folks may think there’s an automatic process following the death of a worker, that’s not always true. This means families may be tasked with seeking out benefits themselves, and that’s best done with as much evidence, legal tools, and experience allies as possible. Regardless of what happened here, it’s important steps are taken as soon as possible to ensure the victim’s loved ones know their rights and have the tools to exercise those rights effectively.
