Commentary on Dual Truck Accident on FM 1058 in Deaf Smith County
While folks tend to think of all lawyers as anti-trucker, the reality is many of my hundreds of clients hurt by commercial vehicles were themselves commercial vehicle drivers. That's why few know the risk these vehicles pose better than the professionals who can do their job responsibly. They also no doubt understand that reckless drivers are a problem, but their employers can sometimes be the more significant issue requiring action.

Not long ago, for example, I handled a serious truck wreck where our investigations found that the at-fault driver was woefully inexperienced. The trucking company basically hired the first warm body that walked in, rushed through all of the safety training, and put him on the road with little more than a wish for good luck. It was just a matter of time before someone got hurt.
That's why it's important that folks remember that truckers are just as susceptible as anyone to the complex hurdles following a serious truck wreck. Getting them the help they need means ensuring there are thorough investigations which can show exactly what went wrong and who needs to be held accountable.
