One Killed in Dual Truck Accident on U.S. 23 in Delaware County, OH
Delaware County, OH — May 9, 2023, one person was fatally injured due to a two truck accident at around 5:08 a.m. along U.S. Route 23.
Preliminary details provided by the Delaware County Police indicated that the crash took place in the area of the U.S. 23 and South Sandusky Street intersection. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
Authorities said that a box truck was going along the northbound lanes of U.S. Route 23. Ahead, a semi-trailer was stopped at the intersection for a traffic signal. The box truck somehow did not slow down in time and crashed into the back of the semi-trailer.
As a result of the collision, a passenger that was riding in the box truck succumbed to fatal injuries. Current reports do not say if anyone else was hurt due to the collision. No charges or citations have been reported, and the factors surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
