4 Injured in Dump Truck Accident on I.H. 495 in Forestville, MD
Forestville, MD — April 8, 2024, two children and two adults were injured in a dump truck accident sometime before 11:00 a.m. along I.H. 495.
According to authorities, an adult and a child were traveling in a northbound dump truck on Interstate Highway 495 in the vicinity of State Route 4 when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, one of the dump truck's tires blew out, causing the vehicle to lose control. It reportedly veered left, entering the southbound lanes of the roadway before overturning and bursting into flames. An southbound SUV attempted to avoid a collision with the errant truck and also overturned as a result.
A woman and child reportedly incurred severe injuries due to the accident. Another adult and an additional child involved also incurred injuries of lesser severity. All four were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
