One Injured in Dump Truck Accident on Bellingrath Road in Mobile County, AL
Mobile County, AL — May 4, 2023, at least one person was injured following a dump truck accident that happened early Thursday on Bellingrath Road.
In their preliminary statements, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials said the crash took place several miles south of Mobile before 9:50 a.m. off the corner of Bellingrath Road and Half Mile Road/Laurendine Road.

According to investigators, a car was traveling in the area. At some point, the car was "pulling onto the highway," according to details available in current news statements. While doing so, a dump truck crashed into that car. The damage resulted in occupants being trapped in the car. Those occupants included three children, reports say.
The driver of the car was apparently removed from the wreckage and taken from the scene onboard a helicopter. Their injuries weren't specified, and they have not been publicly identified. It's unclear right now if any of the kids involved had injuries due to the crash. The dump truck driver's condition also was not specified.
At this time, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
