Eight Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. Hwy 190 in Polk County, TX
Polk County, TX — April 8, 2023, eight people (2 adults and 6 children) were injured when an SUV and semi-truck collided around 12:47 p.m. on U.S. Hwy 190 in Polk County.
All eight victims were in an eastbound Toyota Highlander which was attempting a left turn from U.S. Hwy 190 onto Walding Rd. when the SUV collided with a westbound Ford F550 Chassis Cab and its trailer.
The impact reportedly forced the SUV to spin clockwise and come to a rest facing northeast just to the north of Walding Rd. and to the east of U.S. Hwy. 190.
The two adult occupants in the front seats of the Toyota Highlander reportedly suffered minor injuries. The six children in the Highlander purportedly suffered serious injuries. All eight victims were transported to a hospital. The two occupants in the Ford semi-truck were reportedly uninjured.
Authorities have not released the causal factors for the accident.
