Man Killed, Others Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on State Road 62 in Hardee County, FL
Hardee County, FL — April 25, 2023, a man was fatally injured and others were injured following a semi-truck accident at around 5:46 a.m. on State Road 62.
Florida Highway Patrol officials released preliminary details about the fatal truck accident. They say it happened in the area of State Road 62 and North County Road 663 outside of Bowling Green.

Details surrounding the crash say it happened as a semi-truck was traveling along the eastbound lanes of SR-62. While doing so, the truck somehow went left of center, according to authorities. This led to the truck crashing into a westbound vehicle. The truck then ran off-road and through a parking lot where it crashed into a business and a parked vehicle.
Due to the collision, one person from the westbound vehicle initially hit by the truck succumbed to fatal injuries. The truck driver was said to have serious injuries while others involved in the accident apparently had minor injuries. Current conditions are unclear.
Right now, there is no specific stated cause for the crash. Authorities have not reported any charges or citations, and their investigations are ongoing.
