One Killed, Two Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on I-10 near Willcox, AZ
Cochise County, AZ — October 10, 2023, one person was killed and two were injured after a dual semi-truck accident at around 7:30 a.m. on Interstate 10.
Details in current reports say the incident occurred in the area of I-10 mile marker 354, which appears to be several miles east of Willcox in Cochise County, just off U.S. Highway 191.

Initial statements on the crash say that it involved two semi-trucks, one of which was carrying ammonia. According to authorities, the driver who was not in the ammonia truck had an unspecified medical emergency. This led to the truck losing control and crashed with the truck carrying the ammonia.
As a result of the collision, one person from the ammonia truck—reportedly a passenger—sustained fatal injuries. The driver of that truck reportedly had life-threatening injuries. It appears the driver who possibly experienced a medical emergency was in non-life-threatening condition.
Right now, the nature of the supposed medical emergency and other details surrounding the crash remain unclear pending investigations.
