Tampa, Florida Man Injured in Truck Accident on U.S. 59 in Victoria County, TX
Victoria County, TX — March 16, 2023, a Florida man was injured following an accident involving an 18-wheeler at 7:12 a.m. along U.S. Highway 59.
Authorities said they were called out to the area of mile marker 642 along the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Details given by investigators say that a 27-year-old man from Tampa, Florida was in a Chevy Silverado traveling eastbound on U.S. 59. Ahead, authorities believe that a tractor-trailer was perpendicular across the lanes of travel. They claim that the truck attempted an unsafe left turn from the right shoulder toward the median crossover. As it blocked lanes of travel, the pickup crashed into the trailer.
The Florida man sustained injuries described as incapacitating. No other injuries were mentioned by investigators. It's unclear at this time if any charges or citations were filed relating to the crash. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
