Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
As authorities continue to see there are consequences for the alleged behavior that led to this crash, my hope is they didn't shirk the importance of investigating the crash as a whole. Holding a wrongdoer accountable is one thing. Getting victims and families evidence to get the help they need is another matter entirely. If the scope of an investigation is too narrow, crucial evidence might slip through the cracks, leaving gaps that insurance companies would be all too happy to exploit.
It's important for those who make serious mistakes to answer for those mistakes, but there should always be room for focusing on the needs of victims and families involved in a serious crash. Hopefully those steps are being taken here.
